During the conference three challenging competitions are featured.
1. The PID 2018 conference will feature a benchmark process challenge.
The results will be presented in several special session during the conference, on the last day 11th May 2018 (check please for details the technical program of the conference).
Full information is available here BENCHMARK
2. A PID tuning competition open to all IFAC participants will be organized by the company Yazzoom.
Contestants will have to find the optimal
parameters for a specific process, using PID tuning simulator training software Simcet.
The award will consist of a prize and a diploma.
The PID 2018 conference will encourage (under)graduate students to participate in a challenging cobot competition. For this, the students
need to program 2 universal robots (UR5 cobots) to execute the task of a bartender (see movie below).
The competition will be organized by Cosmin Copot (University of Antwerp) in collaboration with sponsoring members/companies.
The award will be presented at the 'Closing Reception' on Friday 11 May 2018.
